Mrs. Lila J. Whetstone, 77, of Adams Run Road, E. St. Clair Township, died Wednesday, November 19th, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Whetstone was born in Bedford on Sunday, December 13, 1936,  the daughter of the late Emmens and Leda (Mowry) Hillegass.

On January 18, 1974, she married Roger A. Whetstone.

In addition to her husband she is survived by Daughter- Shirlene K. wife of  Wally Knopsnyder, Manns Choice; Daughter- Melony A. wife of  James Lynch, Bedford; Step Son- Joseph Whetstone, Florida; Step Son- Michael Whetstone, Georgia; Step Son- Timothy Whetstone, New Paris; Brother- Wayne husband of  Irene Hillegass, Buffalo Mills; Brother- Evan Hillegass, Bedford; Brother- Ronald husband of  Vicki Hillegass, Manns Choice; Daughter-in-Law- Laura Whetstone, Manns Choice and her first husband, Terry Orville Whetstone, South Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, one step great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Whetstone, her step-son, Roger Whetstone, her step-mother, Dorothy (Geller) Hillegass & a sister-in-law, Gail Hillegass.

Lila was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Madley and attended the Manns Choice Church of God.  She was employed as a wheel maker at Cannondale in Bedford, owned and operated a Day Care Facility and formerly owned and operated the Lakewood Amoco.  Lila was a member of the Bedford Senior Center.  She was an athlete and won numerous medals with the Pennsylvania and National Senior Games.  She was a registered Clown bringing smiles and happiness to both the young and old.  She partcipated in  and was a multiple medalist in their annually held Silver Games.  She was a registered Clown and participated with the American Cancer Society and in the Relay for Life Walks to raise funding and awareness for cancer research. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Manns Choice Church of God at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 23rd, 2014  with Rev. Richard Whetstone officiating.

Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Manns Choice.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg and on Sunday from 1:30 - 2:00 PM at Manns Choice Church of God.
