Mr. Leyn E. Lohr, 77, of Lohr Road, Schellsburg, died at 8:37 PM, Thursday, March 1st, 2012 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Mr. Lohr was born in Bedford on Tuesday, September 11, 1934, the son of the late Earl B. and Darl M. (Frazier) Lohr.
On December 27, 1955, he married M. Jean (Sarver) Lohr. In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Karen L. husband of Ed Caton, Schellsburg; Son- Kevin B. husband of Jane (Dull) Lohr, New Paris; Son- Keith A. husband of Lisa (Murray) Lohr, Schellsburg; Daughter- Kathy G. wife of Eric Dull, Alum Bank; Granddaughter- Angela (Caton) wife of Tony Goodrich, Frankfort, KY; Grandson- Ryan husband of Jennifer (Musselman) Caton; Granddaughter- Rebecca Lohr and fiancé Tommy Zembower; Grandson- Scott Dull; Grandson- Hunter Lohr; Grandson- Matt Dull; Granddaughter- Alicia Sharer; Grandson- Trent Lohr; Granddaughter- Mckenzie Lohr; Granddaughter- Kaelyn Lohr; and two great grandchildren Madison Caton and Dylan Yeagle; Brother- Dick husband of Kay (Gramling) Lohr, Schellsburg; Sister-in-Law, Shirley (Shippey) Lohr, Manns Choice. Leyn was a devoted nephew to his aunts, Marie Hiner of Johnstown and Irene Smith of Bedford. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Earl Lohr and by two brothers, Brady Lohr and Dean Lohr
Mr. Lohr attended the Faith Brethren Bible Church in New Paris. He served as a specialist in the US Army and was a long time Republican Committeeman. Leyn was retired from the PA Turnpike Commission and had been am employee of Laurel Packaging and Dravis Lumber in Johnstown for many years prior to that. He loved farming, hunting, gardening and going to watch his grandchildren's sporting events.
A Funeral Service will be held at Faith Brethren Bible Church, New Paris. at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 5th, 2012 with Pastor Jim Espenshade officiating.
Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
