Mr. Lewis R. "Lew"  Howsare, 41, of Tulls Hill Road, Bedford, died at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 25th, 2013 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Howsare was born in Everett on Tuesday, May 25, 1971,  the son of Shirley A. (Boyle) Howsare of Bedford and the late Clyde R. "Bill" Howsare.

On July 18, 1998, he married Becky  S. (Turner) Howsare at Old Bedford Village.  In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by Daughter- Valene M. (Bowman) wife of  Michael Kinsey, Bedford; Daughter- Jenna M. (Bowman) wife of  Jim Raynor, Butler; Grandmother- Mattie C. Boyle, Pavia; Brother- William "Bill" Howsare and fiancee Deb Bonanni, Bedford; Sister- Terri wife of Todd Hauze, Everett; Grandchildren- Alexa L. Fetter and Chase M. Kinsey; Nephews and Niece- Ross & Austin Howsare and Matthew and Deena Hauze.

Lew was a 1989 graduate of Bedford High School, where he was MVP of his varsity football team.  He served as a specialist in the US Army.  He was employed at Rockland Manufacturing in Bedford as a welder for 16 years, nine months and 26 days.

Lew was an active member of the Manns Choice Church of God, where he was a Sunday School Teacher, helped lead the youth group and served on the Church Council.  He also participated in the Passion Plays as a Roman Soldier.  Lew enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, working on cars, being outdoors, NASCAR and football.  He was the best husband, a wonderful father and loving grandfather who greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held  at Manns Choice Church of God at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 1st, 2013 with Pastor Chris Faylor, Rev. Richard Whetstone and Pastors John & Kim Bennett

Interment will be held at  Bedford County Memorial Park.  Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Manns Choice Church of God.
