He was 87 years of age, born in New Baltimore, a son of the late Urban and Irene Hankinson.
Leo is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Eileen (Hillegass) Hankinson; six children, Joyce, Pauline, Kenneth, husband of Kimberly, Joan Eichelberger, Lois Zanzoul, wife of Hamadi & Dorothy Nyland, wife of Bradley; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Suhrie & Margaret Lynch and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Eugene.
Leo was a retired US Steel worker and served in the US Navy during WWII.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg with Father Richard Tomkosky officiating.
Committal will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, New Baltimore.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
