Mr. Lawson M. Duvall, 74, of Cumberland Road, Bedford died Thursday, December 28th, 2017 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Duvall was born in Akersville on May 15, 1943, the son of the late Orville W. Duvall, Sr. and Sarah Margaret (Jackson) Duvall.
On November 20, 1971, he married Barbara J. (Sone) Duvall. In addition to his wife he is survived by Sister- Wilma Kint, Crystal Spring; Sister- Esther Swab, Harrisburg; Sister- Eleanor Fischer, Crystal Spring; Brother- Stiles Roy husband of Carol Duvall, Harrisonville; Sister- Doris wife of Dale Bell, Harrisburg; Sister- Rachel Jean Duvall, Crystal Spring; Brother- Clair husband of Winniford Duvall, Crystal Spring and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Orville W. Duvall, Jr., Jack Duvall, Shirley Leury and Sarah Duvall.
Lawson attended the Churches of the Central Bedford Lutheran Parish. He was a graduate of Williamsport College, where he earned an Associates Degree in Accounting. A computer programer by trade, he was instrumental in setting up the first computer system at the First National Bank in Bedford. He then went on to be a co-owner of Bedford Computer Service. Lawson also worked at the Bedford Gazette, where he served as their comptroller. Throughout the years, Lawson and his wife Barb owned and operated the Breezewood Market and Amick's Restaurant in Fishertown.
Lawson enjoyed hunting and golfing. His happiest times were spent helping out on the family farms in Crystal Spring and as a John Deere man, he could be seen regularly riding the "Big Green Tractor". Lawson loved his family and was a wonderful husband, a loyal brother and a devoted friend. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Everett, PA. at 12 Noon on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 with Rev. Paul Claycomb and Mrs. Michele Fisher officiating.
Interment will be held at Everett Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 10:30 AM - 12 Noon at the Geisel Funeral Home in Everett.
