Mr. Larry J. Cooper, 76, of Schellsburg, passed away Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg,

Mr. Cooper was born in Johnstown on Saturday, February 24, 1940,  the son of the late Charles and Arletta (McDowell) Cooper.

On June 30, 1995, he married Ruby (Mock) Cooper.   In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Stacey Beaule', Greensburg; Daughter- Lisa wife of Mike Lambert, Latrobe; Step Daughter- Lori wife of Steve Pedley, South Carolina; Step Daughter- Lisa wife of Gary Dawson, Bedford; Four Grandchildren- Amber Beaule', Sarah Lambert, Kayla and Brandon Dawson; also surviving, Brother- Donald and wife, Janis Cooper, Schellsburg.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Egolf and a brother, Ronald Cooper.

Larry was a 1958 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and served in the US Air Force.  He was a metallurgist at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown, retiring in 2000.  Larry loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.  He also loved to read, do crossword puzzles and share his love of God with everyone he met.  Larry enjoyed spending time with his four year old granddaughter, Sarah.  Larry was involved with the Shawnee Ministry and the Chaplains in the Park program and traveled on many mission work camps.  He attended the Point Church of the Brethren and was an avid supporter of C.U.F.I.

A funeral service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 with Pastor Dave Schoenberger and Pastor Barry Neal officiating.

Interment will be held at  Bedford County Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
