June Lillian (Szemes) Budnick

Mrs. June Lillian Budnick, 83, of Tulls Hill Road, Bedford, died at 8:16 AM, Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 at Colonial Courtyard.

Mrs. Budnick was born in Pittsburgh on Friday, June 19, 1931,  the daughter of the late Stephen and Martha (Chonka) Szemes.

On December 30, 1953, she married Adam Budnick.  He preceded her in death on January 21, 1979.

She is survived by  Daughter- Kim S. Budnick, Bedford; Son- Keith P. husband of  Dana (Dishong) Budnick, Manns Choice; Son- Kerri Lee Cramer, Pittsburgh. She is also survived by one grandson, Robert J. Petraglia. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Grebur and by a brother, Alexander Szemes

June was affiliated with the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Bedford.  She worked in administration at the Westinghouse-Bettis Plants in Pittsburgh where she met her husband in 1953.  She then worked as a desk clerk at the Holiday Inn in Bedford.  June was a lifetime member of the Schellsburg VFW Post  #4440 and the Bedford American Legion Post # 113 Ladies Auxiliaries.  June was very proud of her Hungarian heritage and spoke fluent Hungarian.  In 1981, she visit relatives in Hungary after many years of corresponding by letters.  June will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Bedford at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 24th, 2014 with Father Donald Dusza celebrant.

Committal Services will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
