Mr. Joseph B. Suter, 83, of Fairview St., Everett, formerly of Currysville, died Friday, September 4th, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Suter was born on Monday, February 1, 1932, the son of the late Walter W. and Florence (Poorman) Suter.
On May 6, 1961, he married Nellie J. (Frederick) Suter. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Brian J. Suter, Woodbury; Son- Kevin D. husband of Melissa (Baronner) Suter, Loysburg; Brother- John Suter, O'Leary, OH. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Shane, Joel, Emma, Jase & Justice, two great granddaughters, Aubrey & Whitney and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Samuel, two sisters, Maude Spellissey & Sara Jane Conrath and by three brothers, Robert Suter, Fred Suter & Richard Suter
Joe attended the Pennwood Bible Church. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. As a young man, he worked various jobs, such as bellman, caddy and valet at the Bedford Springs. Joe then joined the US Navy and served four years aboard the USS Tarawa working on the flight deck crew. Upon the completion of his military service, he was employed by Pratt and Whitney as an aircraft mechanic. Joe was a member of the I.O.O.F. of Johnstown #523 and a member of the Roaring Spring American Legion Post #147. He enjoyed antique cars and being outdoors. Joe was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend and he will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at Pennwood Bible Church, Everett at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 with Rev. Floyd Rinehart officiating.
Interment will be held at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Everett and on Tuesday from 10:00 - 10:30 AM at the church.
