Joseph Earl Turner

Joseph E. Turner, 86, of Columbia, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick.  He was the husband to Patricia C. Turner.  Born on May 28, 1932, in Bedford, PA, he was the son of Andrew Earl Turner and Sara Susan Hartman Turner.

Joe was a graduate of Bedford High School and attended classes at Penn State University, University Campus and also at Ben Franklin University in Washington, DC.  Mr. Turner worked for the F.B.I., creating artist conceptions and trial exhibits.  He was a musician and singer, playing piano, organ and at one time, was the choir director at Darnestown Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lorijean Carroll Turner of Columbia, MD; a brother, Robert Harry Turner and his wife Erma of Carlsbad, NM; a sister-in-law Marlene (Diehl) Turner of Bedford, PA as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 12, at Stauffer Funeral Home,  1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  A funeral service will take place at 5:00 pm after the visitation in the funeral home.  Reverend Raleigh F. Carroll will officiate.

A second visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 14 at Geisel Funeral Home, 330 E. Pitt Street, Bedford, PA 15522.  A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home.  Reverend Paul Claycomb will officiate.  Interment will be at Friends Cove United Church of Christ Cemetery in Bedford, PA.
