Mr. Joseph L. Rhodes, Jr., 66, of N. Railroad St., Everett, passed away Thursday, January 24th, 2013, surrounded by his family, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Cumberland, MD. on Thursday, September 19, 1946, the son of the late Joseph L. Rhodes, Sr. and Jeanette Minnie (Price) Rhodes.
On November 12, 2005, he married Janice M. (Lake) Rhodes. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2011.
He is survived by Daughter- Tammy Ensminger and fiancé Steven Corle, Bedford; Son- William Rhodes, Erie; Step-Children- Connie, Virginia, Sherry, Clyde "Sonny", Vicki and Jennifer; Sister- Christine Spicer, Everett; Brother- George "Steve" husband of Pam (Lake) Rhodes, Everett; Sister- Judy wife of Daniel Rush, Everett; Brother- Mark Rhodes, Mechanicsburg; Brother- Kevin husband of Kathy (Reffner) Rhodes, Everett; Brother- Kenny husband of Kathy (Henry) Rhodes, Loysburg; Brother- Rocky husband of Barbara (Harr) Rhodes, New Paris; Sister- Paula wife of Dennis Perrin, Clearville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, CarolAnn Ensiminger, Casey A. Ensiminger, Robert W. Ensiminger, Jr., George Rhodes and Keith Rhodes. Joe is also survived by many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah J. McNoldy
Joe was of the Protestant faith. He was previously employed at Everett Hardwood, R&R Logging and was a carrier for the Bedford Gazette. Joe was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and uncle whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. His spirit was one of humor, love and warmth. Joe will be missed greatly and remembered fondly by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held at at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Raystown Road, Everett at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 with Rev. Curtis Bryant officiating.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the funeral home in Everett.
