John "Boogs" R. Howsare, Sr.

John "Boogs" R. Howsare, Sr., 75, of Younts Road, Bedford died at 8:03 AM, Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Hershey Medical Center.

Mr. Howsare was born in Bedford on October 14, 1944, son of the late John Calvin and Jean Lois (Thompson) Howsare.

On September 29, 1963 he married Patricia (Beegle) Howsare, they were married for 56 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Carol J. wife of  William Fyfe, Bedford; Daughter- Kimberly S. Howsare, Bedford; Son- John R. Howsare Jr., Bedford; Grandchildren Kristy, Michael, Amber, Jessica, Kayla, Erin, Kerri, Kyle and Beau; Great-grandchildren Matthew, Ava, Asa,; Natalie, Parker, Tiffany, Dalton, Rylee, Taylor, Jackson and Joslyn; Sister- Marion Braman, Nebraska; Sister- Julia Ann wife of Ronnie Painter, Breezewood; Brother-Thomas husband Miriam (Creps) Howsare, Bedford.  John was preceded in death by Infant Daughter- Barbara Jean and Brothers- Clyde and Perry Howsare.

Boogs was an over the road Truck Driver for 48 years.

He enjoyed dirt track racing of any type, Boogs also greatly enjoyed hunting, football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 2-8PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A funeral service will be held  at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2019  with Pastor John Bennett officiating.

Interment at St James Lutheran Cemetery, Bedford.
