John J. Sone

Mr. John J. Sone, 59, of McClelland Ave., Boonsboro, MD, formerly of Bedford County, died on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Sone was born in Bedford on Friday, July 27, 1951, the son of Norma Jean (Bridaham) Sone of Bedford and the late Jacob B. "Jake" Sone.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by Daughter- Kristi A. wife of Greg King, Windsor Mill, MD; Daughter- Whitney H. wife of Caitlin Pittman, Mercerburg; Sister- Barbara J. wife of Lawson Duvall, Bedford. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Madison, Chase and Hoytt and by his former wife, Kimberly (Hoover) Sone
John was a 1969 graduate of Bedford High School. He then attended Shippensburg University and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. John was employed as an agent for Bankers Life & Casualty Insurance Company in Hagerstown for 37 years. He was a a former employee of Exxon at the Midway Plaza in Bedford and a former substitute teacher for Bedford High School. John was an avid golfer and hunter and was a member of the Hidden Valley Hunting Club in Wardensville, WV.
A funeral service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Raystown Road, Everett, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 with Pastor Gary Blankley officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Everett.
