John Eugene Feather

Mr. Feather was born at the Water Brooks Farm, Schellsburg (now known as The Lodge at Shawnee State Park on Friday, July 15, 1932, the son of the late Charles Ross and Carrie Louisa (Griffith) Feather.
On November 21, 1953, he married Aldine E. (Claycomb) Feather in Winchester, VA. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2002.
He is survived by Daughter- Diane Lee Feather, Alum Bank; Son- Dwayne Eugene husband of Christine (Passarelli) Feather, Alum Bank; Sister- Mary Margaret wife of Francis "Skimmer" Wilson, Bedford; Sister- Dorothy Mildred wife of Clarence Gohn, Schellsburg; Brother- Jack Griffith husband of June (Smalley) Feather, Crescent City, CA. He is also survived by five grandsons, Stephen John, Charles Dwayne husband of Cindi (Mearkle), James Earl, Robert Lee and Bryan Keith,and two great grandchildren, a great granddaughter, Becky Aldine Feather, daughter of Stephen and a great grandson, Shane Austin Feather, son of Charles, and by two sister -in-laws, Ruth M. (Patton-Ridenour) Feather widow of Harry, Sarasota, FL and Cora L. (Reininger) Feather widow of James, Schellsburg and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cindy Lou and by brothers and sister-in-laws, Harry Albert and his wife Barbara Ellen (Shoemaker) Feather, Robert Edmund and his wife Emma Victoria (Brown) Feather, Charles Ray Feather and James Ross Feather
John was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Imler. He was a 1951 graduate of Schellsburg-Napier High School. John was the owner/operator of Feather Sanitation for 30 years. He was also a mechanic at Eastern Express and Suwak trucking companies. John served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, was the Cub Master of Pack 75 and served as Bedford REC Board Director for 12 years. .
A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc, Pleasantville at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 with Pastor James Neatrour officiating.
Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.
