Joel C. Riggle, 85, of Industrial Avenue, Bedford, died Monday, April 6, 2020 at Windber Woods Senior Living, Windber, PA.
Mr. Riggle was born in Chicago, IL on July 10, 1934, son of the late Lyman C. and Edith Louise (Allen) Riggle.
On August 28, 1984 Joel married Rachel (Karns) Weicht-Riggle.
In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Dr. Robert Andrew Riggle, Indiana; Daughter- Karen L. Wagner, Indiana; Grandchildren- Jeff, Katie, Patrick, Laura, Ryan, Michelle, Chris, Alicia and Joel; Great-grandchildren- Violet Rose, Gage and Trey; Step-son James R. husband of Hannah Weicht, Portland, OR; Step-daughter Shirley L. Mahoney boyfriend Dean, Kenosha, WI; Step-daughter Lisa R. Marple boyfriend Wendell Friday, Bedford; Step-son Quitin husband of Kathrine Weicht, TX; Step-grandchildren- Jessica, Jeremy, Richard, Cori, Jordan, Cody, Savanah and Kate; Step-great grandchildren John Jr., Johan James, Camden, Jaylon and Payton. Joel was preceded in death by Sons- Thomas, Daniel and Paul Riggle, Brother- Dr. Allen Riggle, first Wife- Dorothy Lundy and Step-granddaughter Mandy R. Grimes
Joel worked in sales for General Dynamics. He was a very active member of the community. Joel was Board Pioneer for Bedford County Historical Society, participated with Arts Council, Bushkill, PA, Director of Fort Bedford Museum, PA Guild of Craftsman as well as Resource Develop Coordinator for Bedford Borough.
Joel was a member of Liberty Bible Church, Bedford.
A Private Service will be held.
Interment at Sweet Root Cemetery.
