J. Guy Holler, Jr., 95, Bedford, formerly of Buffalo Mills went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital, Snake Spring Twp., due to complications from Covid-19.
Mr. Holler was born in Bard Hollow on November 11, 1925, son of the late J. Guy Holler, Sr. and Eva (Burkett) Holler.
Guy is survived by his 2nd wife Dolores (Barto) Holler whom he married on February 15, 1997.
In addition to his wife Dee he is survived by Daughter- Vicki S. wife of Charles Smith, Schellsburg; Daughter- Judy A. wife of Steve Weber, Swickley; Grandchildren- Dr. Corey Smith (Tammy), Valeri White (John), Chad Smith (Kristin), Rodger Weber (Katelyn) and Andrew Weber, Great-grandchildren- Hannah, Anneliese and Talia Smith, Callie and Celia Smith and Emma and Issabelle Weber; Dee's Son- Jeffery Donaldson and Family, FL; Brother-in-Law- Ernest Screen and Family andmany nieces and nephews. Guy was preceded in death by his first wife- Velma F. (Screen) Holler, Son- Roger Holler, Sisters- Margaret Faupel, Ona Casteel- Stouffer, and L. June Cook.
Guy was a 1943 Napier-Schellsburg High School Graduate.
Mr. Holler was a Tailgunner in a B24 during WW II in the Army Air Force.
Guy retired after 38 years of service from Kelly Springfield Tire where his last several years there he was a Shift Forman.
He was a member of Bedford United Methodist Church.
Community involvement and good ethics was very important to Guy, he was a member of Bedford American Legion Member Post 113, Charter Member of Rocky Ridge Sportsman Club, Oscar Jordan Post VFW of Hyndman, Hyndman Masonic Lodge #589, Valley of Cumberland Scottish Rite, Fort Bedford Honor Guard and NRA.
He enjoyed hunting turkey, deer and elk as well as fishing.
Guy was great guy that always made everyone feel welcomed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Madley Cemetery, Buffalo Mills with Jim Miller officiating.
Military Rites accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
