Mrs. Jessie V. Diehl, 87, of North Spring St., Everett, died at 6:30 PM, Sunday, October 6th, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Diehl was born in Clearville on March 8, 1926,  she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Elsie (Weimer) VonStein.

She was married to William "Lum" Diehl.  He preceded her in death on August 11, 1988.

She is survived by  Daughter- Susan A. Diehl, Everett; Step Son- Denis Diehl, Quinlan, TX; Step Son- Daniel husband of  Gale (Price) Diehl, Bedford; Sister-in-Law- Grace VonStein, Clearville. She is also survived by six grandsons, Shawn, Daniel Jr. & W. Paul Diehl, James William Anderson and Lloyd & Warren Corle, twelve great grandchildren,  four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Delmar, Harold, Ivan, John and Sam VonStein and by three sisters, Marjorie VonStein, Reba Barkman and Lena Bishop

Mrs. Diehl was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clearville.  She was a graduate of Lock Haven University.  Mrs. Diehl was employed as a school  teacher with the Everett Area School District, teaching primarily at the high school in the math department.  She volunteered within the school on many projects and was the Junior Class advisor for many years, helping organize the Jr./Sr. proms.  During W.W.II, she worked in the factories, supporting the war effort.  Mrs. Diehl was active at the Chaneysville Senior Center for many years and then at the Bedford Senior Center.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, a dedicated educator and an involved member of the community.

A Memorial Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Raystown Road, Everett on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Robert Robertson officiating.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at the funeral home in Everett.
