Jessica Ann (Barnes) Giarth, 31 of Altoona entered into a new life on January 17th, 2015 at home. Accompanying her into this New Journey were Kea Barnes, age 9 & Lyric Giarth, age 21 months. All three passed through the Heavenly Gates after a tragic fire at their home.
Jessica was born on March 20, 1983 in Bedford to her mother, Thelma Scott married to Caesar of Everett and to her father,
Keith Barnes of Chambersburg.
Kea Marie Barnes was born on April 5, 2005 in Roaring Spring to Jessica and her father, Jo Hose of Fairmont, WV. In addition to her brother and sisters at home, she is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Dominic Giarth, Savannah Hose, Zophia Hose, Joseph Hose, Jr. and Rachel Hose and her paternal grandparents, Cleal & Fay Hose of Moorehead, WV. Kea was in the third grade at Ebner Elementary School in Altoona.
Lyric Jean Giarth was born March 2, 2013 in Altoona to Jessica and her father Michael Giarth of Altoona.
Jessica was married to Michael Giarth, however at the time of her passing they were separated. She is also survived by her brother, Sean Barnes husband of Lori (Gieder) of Loysburg and by her maternal grandparents, George & Shirley Beaner of Alum Bank. She was a graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School.
Jessica's crowning achievement was her strong loving relationship with her five children and three step children. She was always committed to be a patient and loving mother to her daughters, Taylor Claar, age 13, Tiffany Claar, age 12, her son Dominic age 7, step daughter, Misti Jo, and step sons, Zachary & Steven. They will miss their mother's love and smile.
Jessica will truly be missed by the following aunts and uncles, Sandra Detwiler, Bedford, Randy Barnes, Stillwater, George Beaner, Jr., Alum Bank, Cletus Beaner, Alum Bank and Joel Beaner, Osterburg.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Grandville & Mildred Barnes.
Jessica's family wishes to thank the Altoona Fire Department, the Altoona Hospital Staff and the local media for their tender loving care during this tragic time.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12 Noon at the Spring Meadow Family Worship Center, 2875 Quaker Valley Road, New Paris with Pastor Chris Clinger officiating.
Interment will be held at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Manns Choice.
Friends are invited to call at the church from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday at the church.
