Mrs. Jannie Mae Miller Hoenstine, 97, of Donahoe Road, Bedford, died at 4:40 AM, Monday, August 27th, 2012 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Miller Hoenstine was born in Jacksonville, FL on Thursday, May 27, 1915, the daughter of the late John Farrow and Ida Mae (Peace) Parris.
She is survived by Daughter- Mary Jane wife of Owen Roberts, Chambersburg; Son- James R. husband of Lillian "Peggy" (Diehl) Miller, Martinsburg; Daughter- Doris McClellan, IL; Daughter- Shirley Miller, IL; Daughter- Ida "Mitzi" (Bauserman) wife of John Demoss, Cumberland; Daughter- Alice wife of Steven Mertz, Coriscia; Daughter- Joyce wife of Gene Loving, WV; Son- Joseph husband of Linda (Dermer) Miller, Hyndman; Son- Donald husband of Cindy (Hale) Miller, Everett. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren. Jannie was preceded in death by her four husbands, Everett Bauserman, James Grave, James H. Miller and Stanley Hoenstine. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John L. Parris and Lewis Boyd Parris.
Jannie attended the Sloans Hollow Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Washington High School in Arlington, VA. Jannie worked as a receptionist for Dr. Claycomb, a beautician and a dispatcher for Reese Motors. She was a former member of the Bedford Moose Lodge #480 and the Artist Guild. Jannie enjoyed crafts, gardening, playing music and was an accomplished landscape artist, working in both oils and watercolors. .
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 30th, 2012 with Rev. J.R. Virgin officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
