Mrs. Janet L. McMillen, 76, of Bedford, formerly of New Paris, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Mrs. McMillen was born in Johnstown on Saturday, September 17, 1938,  the daughter of the late Webb and Ethel (Barefoot) Adams.

On July 9, 1955, she married George A. McMillen in Cumberland, MD.  Her death ends a union of 60 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband she is survived by Son- Jeffrey P., New Paris; Daughter- Valerie, Schellsburg; Son- Keith husband of  Terri, Bedford; Son- Kirt, Columbus, OH; Daughter- Lana, Detroit, MI; Sister- Shirley, Boulder City, NV. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and three very special great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Joel, a grandson, Artie, a sister Deanne Kauffman and a brother Sherman

Janet was a member of the Alum Bank United Methodist Church.  She was a dedicated homemaker and drove a school van for the Chestnut Ridge School District for 44 years.  Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother sister and friend and she will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.

Interment will be held at  Fishertown Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Schellsburg.
