Janet L. (Miller) Wilson

Janet L. Wilson, 99, of Mt. Holly Springs and formerly of Schellsburg, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle. Born December 20, 1915 in Napier Township, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo Jobe and Lettie (Fleegle) Miller.  Her beloved husband, Woodrow “Woody” Wilson, whom she married on July 8, 1939, preceded her in death on February 25, 1986.

Janet was the valedictorian of her graduating class of Bedford High School.  She was a member of the United Church of Schellsburg.  Janet loved playing bingo, embroidery, crocheting and canning vegetables.  In the last five years of her life, Janet was cared for by her grandson Bert, his wife, Diane, and their daughter Kaytlin.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise “Susie” Black (husband Albert “Butch”) of Mt. Holly Springs, PA; daughter-in-law, Maggie Wilson of Newville, PA; nine grandchildren, Dawn, Cindy, Ellie, James, Ricky, Rhonda, Randy, Janene, and Bert; and numerous great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, Janet is preceded in death by two sons, James and Richard Wilson; three brothers, Carl miller, Merle Miller & Glenn Miller and one sister, Christine Smith-Huston.

Funeral services will be private.  Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Arrangements are entrusted to Geisel Funeral Homes in Schellsburg and Chambersburg.
