Janet C. (Palmer) Spade

Ms. Janet C. Spade, 71, of Old 126, Crystal Spring, died at 1:15 AM, Thursday, October 11th, 2012 at her home.

Ms. Spade was born in Baltimore, MD on Wednesday, July 9, 1941,  the daughter of the late Scott E. and Hulda M. (Smith) Palmer.

She is survived by  Son- Allen husband of  Debbie (Smith) Spade, Crystal Spring; Son- Terry husband of  Eva (Henderer) Spade, Crystal Spring; Son- Byron husband of  Chris (Homme) Spade, Crystal Spring; Son- Stephen husband of  Cindy (Ellis) Spade, Crystal Spring; Son- Jamie husband of  Petina (Fagley) Spade, Crystal Spring; Daughter- Elaine wife of  Darren Burkett, Crystal Spring; Former Husband- Joe A. Spade, Crystal Spring. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Curtis Spade, Ashley Smith, Brittany Spade, Renee Spade, Austin Spade, Brandon Spade, Clayton Burkett, Sarah Spade, Allison Spade, Madison Spade, Casey Spade, Bailey Burkett, Quinton Spade and Adyson Burkett, and three great grandchildren, Camden Spade, Bray Branson and Alexis Eberhart  and her three cousins, with whom she was raised like sisters, Kay Earhart, Claudia Ward and Sandy Stahle

Janet was a member of the Breezewood Methodist Church.  She was a member of the class of 1959 at Warfordsburg High School, where she graduated as the class Salutatorian.  Janet worked as a legal secretary for 26 years for Attorney Richard Lins.  She also managed The Bookstore in Bedford from it's opening until it closed it's doors.  Janet served on the Brush Creek Township Election Board for over 40 years.

A funeral service will be held  at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Everett at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 15th,  2012 with Pastor Steve Salisbury officiating.

Interment will be held at  McKendree Cemetery, Crystal Spring.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
