Mr. James M. Hood, 51, of Raystown Road, Everett, died Friday, April 6th, 2018 at Windber Hospice.
Mr. Hood was born at Bedford Hospital on September 15, 1966, the son of Beverly A. (Coote) Hood of Everett and the late James F. Hood.
On June 4, 1988, he married Diana (Clark) Hood. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by Daughter- Kristen wife of George Shawl, Breezewood; Daughter- Alicia wife of Wesley Grimes, Clearville; Son- Matthew Hood, Everett; Son- Michael Hood, Everett; Grandchildren- George Cameron Shawl, Hailey Shawl, Layla Shawl and Braylynn Grimes; Sister- Susan widow of Stephen J. McCahan, Everett; Sister- Donna wife of Randy Barber, Everett; Sister- Linda wife of Mark Clark, Clearville; Sister- Karen wife of Tim Troutman, White Oak; Brother- William husband of Shellie (Potts) Hood, Artemas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was a member of the Pleasant Union Church in Clearville. He was a 1984 graduate of Everett High School and a 1989 graduate of Duquesne University. Jim was a pharmacist and worked at various pharmacies in the area over the years. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jim was a true family man and loved the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a devoted son, a wonderful husband, a loving father and grandfather, a great brother and a loyal friend and he will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at Pleasant Union Church, Clearville at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 10th, with Pastor Lyle Mellott and Pastor Jane Metzgar officiating.
Interment will be held at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Clearville.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home in Everett and on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church in Clearville.
