James E. "Bim" Mundorff, Jr., 74, of Fish Hatchery Road, New Paris died on Friday, February 12, 2021 from injuries sustained from an automobile crash on Lincoln Highway, Everett.
Mr. Mundorff was born in Fishertown on June 10, 1945, son of the late James E and Ethel (Brown) Mundorff.
He was married to Karen (Edmiston) Mundorff whom also died on Friday, February 12 from injuries sustained from the automobile crash. Granddaughter Kendall Lake whom was also a passenger died from injuries sustained from this automobile crash.
He is survived by Son- Matthew J. husband of Bronwyn (Berkstresser) Mundorff, Bedford; Daughter- Rebecca L. Sabo Mundorff wife of Kevin Sabo , Bedford; Grandchildren Morgan, Michaela, Wyatt, Dakota and Colton; Sister- Eva V. Howell, Bedford; Sister- Charolette J. Garcia-Aboytes, San Antonio, TX; one step-son, three step-daughters and numerous step-grandchildren and Grand Dog- Mundy. James was preceded in death by Sister- Betty Wertz.
James enlisted on November 15, 1965 onto the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, Norfolk, VA to serve his Country in the U.S. Navy, he served during the Vietnam War. James was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He then went to work for the department of Army- Letterkenny Army Depot.
He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons #320 Bedford, American Legion Post #113, American Quarter Horse Association and the Appaloosa Horse Club.
James was a loving son, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and cousin who loved spending time with his family. He had a passion for horses and working his farm. James woke up every morning with a smile on his face and had a great sense of humor even after the sacrifice he made for his country and numerous tours in Vietnam and even being captured. James would light up a room, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, Fishertown.
A funeral service will be held at Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 20th, with Pastor Dan Oldham officiating.
Interment at Horne Church Cemetery, West St. Clair Township.
Military Rights accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
