Mr. James D. Weneck, Sr., 89, of Pennknoll Road, Everett, formerly of Watson Road, Manns Choice, died at 7:50 PM, Thursday, September 15th, 2011 at Pennknoll Village.
Mr. Weneck was born in Johnstown on Sunday, March 26, 1922, the son of the late Peter J. and Martha (Box) Weneck.
On March 30, 1942, he married Anna Lois (Tiday) Weneck. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2004.
He is survived by Son- James D. Weneck, Jr. husband of Judith, Jonestown; Daughter- Barbara Ann wife of Rev. William Cox, Summerville, GA; Son- Dennis E. husband of Donna Weneck, Milford. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Jerry and a grandson, Michael
Jim was a member of the Manns Choice Church of God, where he served as a deacon. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II. Jim was employed as a truck driver, first hauling milk for Detweiler's Dairy and then hauling concrete.
A Funeral Service will be held at Manns Choice Church of God at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 with Rev. Richard Whetstone officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg and on Tuesday from 1:00 - 1:30 PM at the church.
Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
