James E. Miller

James Ewalt Miller, 86, a resident of Schellsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 6, 2024. Jim was born in New Paris on January 4, 1938, son of the late Cubin F. and Georgia (Taylor) Miller. On March 6, 1959, he married his wife, Dixie L. (Seese), who preceded him in death on March 30, 2016. He is survived by son- Kimmel, husband of Drena (Closson) Miller, of Alum Bank; daughter- Eunice, wife of Todd McCoy, of New Paris; son- Samuel, husband of Lori (Miller) Miller, of Schellsburg; daughter- Ruth, wife of Chris Priest, of Decatur, AL; brother- Perry Miller, of Schellsburg; brother- Dennis Miller, of Schellsburg; along with seven grandchildren; Chelsea (Miller), wife of Justin Grace; Kyle Miller; Brandon McCoy; Ethan McCoy; Cole Miller, husband to Kate (McGowan); Cody Miller; Isabelle Priest and 2 great-grandchildren, Judah Grace and Emily Grace. Jim is preceded in death by son- Timothy Miller, and siblings: Clay R. "Dick" Miller, Joseph Miller, Thomas Miller, and Dora Ann Smith.

Jim was a master carpenter and had a talent for being able to visualize, create and fix most anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed his help. Jim and Dixie were members of Ryot Church of the Nazarene and served on numerous work and witness trips to countries around the world. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, whether fishing or hunting, playing cards with his grandchildren, attending little league games, or assisting his children with any and all projects they had. Jim had a work ethic that was tireless and a spirit of giving that never diminished. He would help anyone, no matter the time or place or cost to himself. His greatest desire was that his family and friends would know Jesus.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11 AM at Schellsburg Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Davis officiating.

Interment will be at Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg.
