Mr. Jack M. Faupel, 91, of E. John St., Bedford, passed away at 6:50 PM, Sunday, April 20th, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Faupel was born in Wolfsburg on Friday, June 9, 1922,  the son of the late Adam and Lottie Belle (Souser) Faupel.

Jack is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dorothy M. (Egolf) Faupel and  Daughter- Jacqueline wife of  Terry Moxley, Bedford; Granddaughter- Aimee wife of  Monte Steed; Grandson- Andrew Hicks; Grandson- Matthew husband of  Melissa Hicks; Granddaughter- Annie wife of  Barry Dinnocenti; Grandson- Matthew Moxley; Granddaughter- Meredith wife of  David Henderson. , and nine great grandchildren, Courtney, Emma, Cameron, Madison, Ashlyn, Rylan, Jackson, Gavin & Maris Jack is also survived by these special people; Tom Kline, Karen Brantner & Donna Hartsock.  He was preceded in death by two daughters, Judith, on April 12, 1993 and Charlotte (wife of the late Harry Sleighter) on August 19, 2001.  He was the youngest of his parents five children, William, Laura, Elmer & Henry and he was the last surviving member of his immediate family.


Jack graduated from Bedford High School in 1940 and married is sweetheart Dorothy on December 20, 1941.  He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ.  Jack served in the US Army during W.W.II II from 1942-1945 in the Signal Corps in the China-Burma-India Theater.  He then was employed by Exxon for 41 years on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.  Jack was also a lay speaker for churches in the Warfordsburg Charge of the United Methodist  Church in Fulton County.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014  with Rev. Joseph Puleo officiating.

Interment will be held at  Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford.  Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home in Bedford.
