Irvin T. Way, 74, of Fishertown, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona.

Irvin was born in Fishertown on February 23, 1950, son of the late Samuel Irvin Way and Edith Marie (Bowling) Benton.

He is survived by wife- Lou (Brightbill) Way, of Fishertown; daughter- Lily June wife of Jim Tate, of IA; son- Samuel husband of Alison (Kennedy) Way II, of Port Matilda; step-son- Karl husband of Stacey (LaPrarie); sister- Diana widow of Tom Beaver, of Fishertown; brother- Robert widower of Alice (Davis) Way, of Bedford; sister- Rose wife of Steve Wurm, of Bedford; sister- Lydia wife of C.L. "Buddy" Sealey, of FL; brother- James husband of Susanne Way, of Bedford; granddaughter- Rebekah M. Tate, step-granddaughter- Natashia W. Brown, and Noah Hillegass who was like a grandson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Irvin graduated Bedford High School in 1968, and Thaddeus Stevens Trade School in 1971. During high school he played football, basketball and ran track. Irvin was also involved in the Chorus and the South Pacific Play. He was on numerous Little League Teams and Teener League. He retired from the United States Army in 1991, and was in Germany, Korea, Desert Storm. He always returned to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland as an Instructor. After returning to home, he began working with his father, and later to own Way's Orchard until his retirement.

Irvin enjoyed roller skating for most of his life, starting at the Bedford Roll Arena, continuing at many rinks in: PA, MD, NJ, DE, FL, and OH, finishing back in Bedford at Moon Glo II. One of his favorites was helping Jane Black with her Wednesday Afternoon Lessons. He also enjoyed Ballroom dancing in Johnstown, Altoona, Indiana (PA), State College, Bellefonte and Florida.

Irvin had many friends, because he was a good friend.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
