Hulda Elmira Heslop, 95, formerly of Ferndale and New Paris died at Waccamaw Community Hospital, Murrells Inlet, SC on April 21, 2014.

She was born on July 12, 1918 on the family farm at Daley. She was the daughter of the late Casper Lambert and Margaret Louise Haines.

She was the widow of John B. Heslop, Sr.

She is survived by children, Robert Heslop, Warner, NH, Evelyn Helm, Reedsville, Mary Lynch, Murrells Inlet, SC, John Heslop, Jr., Maumee, Ohio, Martha Ling, New Paris and Thomas Heslop, Walpole, NH.  She is also survived by grandchildren, James & Michelle Walker, Anne Yokum & Joshua Helm, Susan Shelton & John Heslop III, Steven Lynch, Carol Feyerabend & Jenny Kaufmann, Michael & William Ling and great grandchildren, Jamie & Colt Walker, Heather Yokum, Trystyn Lynch, Anne Peterson, Abby, Lily & Ryan Feyerabend and Zachary, Cole & Cameron Ling.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Margaret Walker, siblings Harvey, Jenny Daly, Louis, Carl, Warren, Monroe, twins Orin & Oscar, Lloyd, her twin Elmer and Ruby Wirick Bradshaw.

Hulda left school at 16 to help her aging parents on the farm. She was a homemaker and used her green thumb helping her husband in their greenhouse business in New Paris.  She crocheted, loved word and picture puzzles and doting on her offspring. She had a long association with the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg with Pastor Robert Thacker officiating.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.
