Mr. Homer P. Felix, 85, of Felix Road, New Paris, died at 2:10 AM, Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 at Donahoe Manor.
Mr. Felix was born in Napier Township, on Saturday, January 8, 1927, the son of the late Dewey and Cora (Rowser) Felix.
On December 13, 1984, he married Dora J. (Lloyd) Felix. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2009.
He is survived by Sister- Mary Mowry, Schellsburg; Sister- Betty Messersmith, Nevada, OH; Sister- Ruth Fetter, New Paris.; Step Daughter- Dora Lynn Ferry, Altoona; Step Daughter- Phyllis Garhart, Altoona; Step Daughter- Cindy Burd, Altoona; Step Son- William Shannon, Jr., Lilly; Step Son- Brian Shannon, Hollidaysburg; Step Son- Michael Shannon, Wilmington, NC; Step Son- Gregory Shannon, Wilmington, NC; Homer is also survived by a number of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Melvin Dean, John and Clair and by a stepson, Eugene Shannon.
Homer was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bedford. He was employed as a steelworker at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown at the open hearth.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 16th, 2012 with President Ray Shepherd.
Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Homer to a charity of the donor's choice.
