Helen L. Robinette, 85, of S. Richard Street, Bedford died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Mrs. Robinette was born in Napier Twp., on April 5, 1935, daughter of the late Draper and Gladys (Amick) Smith.
On September 14, 1955 Helen married Vernon Robinette. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2002.
She is survived by her son Gregory L. Robinette( wife Susan) of Wesley Chapel, FL and daughter Cynthia L. Pepple(husband Thomas) of Bedford, PA. Grandchildren: Ashley Sawyer (husband Michael) of Everett, PA, Ryan Robinette of Wesley Chapel, FL, Alex Robinette of Wesley Chapel FL. Lauren Rudolph (husband Stephen) of Leesburg, VA, Michael Lindstrom of Ocean City ,New Jersey. Great-grand-children (Gracie Sawyer, Aaron Sawyer, Andrew Sawyer and Ava Rudolph). Sister-Joanne Claycomb(husband Kenneth R.) of Mt.Airy, MD and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by brothers and sisters- Carl Smith, Donald Smith, Cloy Smith, Harry Smith, Ross Smith, Jean Foor and a sister who died at birth are all deceased family members.
Helen worked at Kennamental Inc. her first few years out of high school starting in 1955. She then was a full time housewife and mother to her 2 children. She loved doing gardening and working with her flowers, especially her beautiful red roses. She also enjoyed watching her Pittsburgh Pirates and doing crossword puzzles especially in her later years.
The family would like to thank the Altoona Hospital for all of their efforts during this trying time. We would also like to specifically thank Betsy and Robert Lamison and Jean Ann George for helping our mother immensely in the past 2 years as her health was declining. They all went above and beyond in caring for our mother.
A Private Family Service will be held.
Interment at Fishertown Cemetery.
