Harold L. "Freddy" Stayer, Sr.

Mr. Harold L. Stayer, Sr., 71, of Imlertown Road, Bedford, died at 8:40 PM, Friday, December 20th, 2013 at his home.

Harold was born in Bedford on Tuesday, January 6, 1942,  the son of the late Clarence and J. Gertrude (Shaffer) Stayer.

On December 16, 1967, he married Wanda D. (Wilt) Stayer.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Harold L. Stayer, Jr. husband of  Molly (Sindelar) Stayer, Blacklick, OH; Son- Kevin R. husband of  Robin C. (Bushey) Stayer, Bedford; Daughter- Julie M. wife of  Mark Kemerer, Ashville. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Nicole, Daphne and Rylea. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and John.

Harold was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Bedford and the Bedford Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM.  He served in the US Army with the 404th MP Company.  He was self-employed as a welder for 30 years.  Harold enjoyed tinkering and loved spending time with his granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held  at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 24th, 2013 with Pastor Jenny Barnes officiating.

Interment will be held at  St James Lutheran Cemetery, Bedford.   Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home in Bedford.
