Mr. Glenn W. "Bill" Reininger, 90, of Pine Street, Pleasantville, went home to be with the Lord at 11:56 AM, Saturday, April 13th, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Reininger was born in Spring Hope on Monday, October 16, 1922, the son of the late William Daniel and Mae (Trout) Reininger.
On September 11, 1946, he married Anna Kathryn (Leventry) Reininger. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2006.
He is survived by Son- Kenneth B. husband of Holly (Young) Reininger, New Paris; Son- Robert W. husband of Pamela (Fuller) Reininger, Burr Hill, VA; Brother- Harry M. "Jiggs" Reininger, Fishertown; Sister- Cora Feather, Schellsburg. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Lexie K. Hammond, Mason G. Reininger, Daniel T. Reininger and Robert Z. Reininger, and two great grandchildren, Lilly Quinn and Henry Ginn. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur in 1994, a brother, Kenneth Reininger, three sisters, Ruie Parks, Mary Cuppett and Kathryn Urice and by an infant brother and sister.
Bill was a member of the Alum Bank United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army during W.W.II with the Company B, 473rd Infantry, where he received the Purple Heart. Bill was employed for 33 years with the Alum Bank Post Office as a rural carrier. He was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association.
A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasantville at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 with Rev. David Zona officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.
