Mr. Gerald F. Grasser, 87, of New Baltimore Road, Manns Choice, died Thursday, July 21st, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Grasser was born in Juniata Township on Monday, July 1, 1929,  the son of the late Albert and Irene (Schaab) Grasser.

He married Mary L. (Leonard) Grasser on June 28, 1949.  In addition to Mary, he is survived by  Daughter- Jean wife of  Tod Manspeaker, Bedford; Daughter- Phyllis L. Grasser, Mars; Daughter- Judy wife of  Lynn Henderson, New Paris; Daughter- Shirley widow of  Lee McVicker, Manns Choice; Daughter- Betty wife of  Terry Lafferty, Schellsburg; Son- Gerald Grasser, Jr. husband of  Mary Ann (Yenchenko) Grasser, Ramey; Daughter- Dawn Hobson, formerly married to Walt Hobson, Alum Bank; Brother- Donald Grasser, Berlin; Sister- Donna Imgrund, Everett. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Grasser & Miles Grasser and by two sisters, Rita Hinson & Eileen O'Brien.

He was a member of the St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore.  Gerald was a very hard worker.  He was a lifelong farmer and worked at the Mountain Meadow farm, raising prize cattle and pheasants & turkeys.  He was also formerly employed as a logger and as the foreman for Braywal Mining, retiring as the foreman for Delta Mining in Lonaconing, MD.  Gerald also manufactured Maple Sugar and was a dealer of sports trading cards and antiques.  He was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend and he will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 25th, 2015 with Father Richard Tomkosky celebrant.

Committal Services will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 2:00 PM.
