Mr. Fred R. Egolf, 87, of Lincoln Highway, Bedford, died Friday, February 19th, 2016 at Pennknoll Village.
Mr. Egolf was born in Napier Township on Monday, July 23, 1928, the son of the late J. Howard and Nellie M. (Acker) Egolf.
On October 28, 1977, he married Dorothy (Harclerode) Feather Egolf. In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Victoria L. "Vickee" wife of Curtis "Grizz" Parker, Norwood, CO; Daughter- Paula G. Egolf, Denver, CO; Sister- Ella Mary Fisher, New Buena Vista; Step Daughter- Gloria Feather and significant other Barry Wandel, Bethel Park; Step Daughter- Barbara Feather and significant other Darrell, Spring Hill, FL; Step Son- John husband of Karen Feather, Lebanon; Step Son- Gregory husband of Elizabeth Feather, Harrisburg; Former Wife- Cordelia R. (Imler) Egolf, Denver, CO. Fred is also survived by a granddaughter, Tia, three great grandchildren, Lilian, Leah & Nathaniel, five step grandchildren, David, Brian, Devon, Abigail & Isabella and four step great grandchildren, Madison, Riley, Jayden & Bentley and numerous nephews & nieces. He was preceded in death by brother, J. Joseph Egolf
Fred was a member of the United Church of Schellsburg. He was a truck driver and retired from Helms Express in Ebensburg in 1984. Fred was very devoted to job and during his entire career was only late twice traveling over the mountain. He was a member of the Bedford Moose #480, the Schellsburg VFW, the New Baltimore Sportsman's Club and the Spicer Creek Hunting Club.
Fred was a real people person and never met a stranger. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Fred also enjoyed gardening and loved watching his nephews play league softball. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed.
A funeral service will be held at United Church of Schellsburg at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016 with Rev. Ruth Shaver & Rev. David Weinhold officiating.
Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
