Frederick S. George

Mr. Frederick S. George, 95, of Donahue Manor Road, Bedford, formerly of Wilmington, DE, died at 3:00 PM, Monday, October 1st, 2012 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Mr. George was born in Coatesville, PA on Tuesday, October 17, 1916,  the son of the late Frederick and Elsie Dripps George.

On February 22, 1944, he married Helen E. (Spackman) George.  She preceded him in death on September 26, 2004.

He is survived by Son- Dr. Frederick S. "Fred" George husband of  Leslie (Milligan) George, Enterprise, AL; Daughter- Rebecca L. "Becky" Edwards, Bedford; Son- William A. "Bill" George husband of  Nancy Young-George, Trumansburg, NY. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kristen, David, Lance, Tyler, Caitlin, Shula and Alan, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, French and Harry and by a sister, Rebecca

Mr. George was a member of the Calvary United Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE and a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church.  He was employed as an industrial sales engineer at Del-Steel Corporation.  Mr. George was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed computers, especially corresponding with family and friends and writing stories.

A funeral service will be held  at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 1:30  PM on Friday, October 5th, 2012 with Pastor Jeff Welsch officiating.

A private interment will be held at the Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and on Friday from 12:30 - 1:30 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the South Central Blind Association, 100 East Pitt Street, Suite 209, Bedford PA, 15522.
