Frances M. "Frannie" (Wolfhope) Karns

Mrs. Frances M. "Frannie"  Karns, 67, of Spring St., Bedford, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17th, 2014 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Karns was born at home in Schellsburg on Wednesday, November 13, 1946,  the daughter of the late Joseph, Wolfhope, Sr. and Alta (Boozer) Wolfhope-Miller.

On November 25, 1964, she married Coy Ray Karns.  He preceded her in death on December 26, 2004.

She is survived by  Daughter- Coreena R. Karns, Bedford Township; Daughter- Gretchen E. wife of  Mark Craig, Ivyland; Daughter- Ursula A. Karns-Waters, New Paris; four grandchildren- Brett, Cedric, Samantha & Alexander; Siblings- Mattie, Patsy, Audrey, Virginia, Larry, Jimmy, Debbie, Carol, Bud & Terry.  She was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Wolfhope, Jr.

Frannie was a member of the Manns Choice Church of God and was a 1964 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School, where she was a member of the Future Nurses of America.  She was employed as a waitress for 20 years at the Coach Room and then later served tables at the Comfort Inn in Breezewood.  Frannie loved her cats and playing Maple Story with her grandchildren, collecting dolphins and she was an excellent square dancer with her husband.  But above all, she loved serving the Lord.

A funeral service will be held  at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 21st, 2014 with Pastor Brian Swain officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Bedford.
