Mrs. Ethel P. Ranker, age 100, formerly of Osterburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at her home in Roaring Spring.
Mrs. Ranker was born in Pavia on October 5, 1917, the daughter of the late John Calvin and Tillie (Yarnell) Stiffler.
On August 22, 1942, she married Harold "Bill" Ranker. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1994.
She is survived by Son- Bernard husband of Mary Ranker, Bakers Summit; Daughter- Sally wife of Charlie Karns, Osterburg; Daughter- Darlene wife of Kerry Clawson, Roaring Spring; Granddaughter- Tami wife of Juan Zuluaga, Texas; Granddaughter- Ami wife of Shawn Ingold, State College; Four Great Grandchildren- Alicia & Lucia Zuluaga and Cooper & Berkley Ingold. Ethel is also survived by daughter-in-law Nancy Ranker of State College and special friend/third daughter, Lois Storrs of Osterburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Karns and the following brothers and sisters; Elmer, Calvin, Melvin, John, Russell and Roy Stiffler, Emma Taylor, Ada Baker and Ann Maticic.
Ethel had a green thumb and loved her plants and flowers. She was an exceptional homemaker and devoted Wife, Mom, Grandma and Mam-Mam. Ethel found delight in all children and animals, especially Muffie and Maggie. She leaves behind countless memories of camping, fishing and her birthday celebrations with family and friends .
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 with Pastor Kathy Colebank officiating.
Interment will be held at Madley Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.
