Ethel D. (Oldham) Eckman

Ethel D. (Oldham) Eckman, 91, of Windber Woods, Windber formerly of Schellsburg, Fishertown and Alum Bank died at 2:15am on October 17, 2018 at Windber Woods.

Born in Paint Township on May 11, 1927 Ethel was the daughter of the late William H. Oldham and Mary A. (Darr) Oldham.

Ethel was the wife of the late John H. Eckman who passed away on May 2, 2002 whom she was married to for 55 and a half years,

Mrs. Eckman worked as a waitress and hostess at Wendy's and many other various restaurants in Bedford County. She also was employed by Washington Bakery Bedford and the Sewing Factory in Windber.

She is survived by Daughter Meriam K. wife of Dennis Benton of Dover, PA, son Roy W. husband of Joyce (Dull) Eckman, Millsboro, DE, son Mark O. husband of Vickie (Miller) Eckman, Alum Bank, son Gareth L. husband of Crystal (Feathers) Eckman, Osterburg. Eight Grandchildren and fourteen Great-Grandchildren.

Mrs. Eckman is preceded in death by brothers Warren, Carl and Wayne Oldham, and sister Edna Benna .

A funeral service will be held Friday October 19, 2018  at 11:00 am at Jack Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville with Pastor Shane Siciliano officating. Friends are invited to call on Thursday October 18, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.  Interment Stone Church Cemetery, Fishertown.
