Ernie James Voth, 94, of Buffalo Mills, formerly of Goessel, Kansas, made his transition the morning of May 23, 2024 at Homewood at Martinsburg.

Born January 27, 1930, son of the late Henry F. Voth and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Voth at Bethesda Hospital, Goessel, Kansas. On July 20, 1951, he married his wife Rose Flaming at Tabor Mennonite Church by Rev. H.B. Schmidt.

He is survived by his wife- Rose Voth, of Martinsburg; son- Jonathan Voth fiancé of Alice Unruh, of Kansas; daughter- NaDa wife of Dale Shoemaker, of Buffalo Mills. He is also survived by grandchildren Vanessa Keeler (Justin), of Wichita, Kansas; Steven Voth (Krystal), of Wichita, Kansas; Angela Ripple (Tanner), of Bedford; and Cary Shoemaker, of Indiana, PA; along with great-granddaughter: Elsly Ripple.

He is preceded in death by daughter- Arlyce Delayne, his parents, brother- Alfred Voth, and sisters: Marna Abrahams, Norma Martinez, Lila Harris.

Ernie was a member of Unity Church of Wichita, KS; and attended Quaker meeting in Fishertown, PA. He loved his time of meditation, reading the Bible and other spiritual works. After moving to Homewood, he appreciated prayers with chaplains Jerry McCuller and Jim Neatrear, and later with Gentiva Hospice Chaplin Guyer.

He was employed by Hesston Corporation for 40 years through several changes of ownership and with his wife, moved to Buffalo Mills upon retirement. He enjoyed helping his son-in-law with maple syrup season and spending time with family. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking, camping, and canoe trips with friends each year. He loved collecting frogs and community cookbooks he found during travels and loved to bake and cook.

A private memorial service will be at Homewood at Martinsburg at the convenience of the family.
