Mr. Emory S. "Pete"  Howsare, Sr.,  75, of  Teaberry Road, Bedford, died at 12:58 PM, Sunday, August 19th, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Howsare was born in Bedford on Friday, October 9, 1936, the son of the late Percy F. and Bessie (Iames) Howsare.

On November 12, 1961, he married Shelby "Jane" (Gonsman) Howsare.  She preceded him in death on April 21, 2007.

He is survived by  Son- Emory S. "Frog" Howsare, Jr. husband of  Kerry (Lott) Howsare, Fishertown; Son- Steve Howsare, TN; Daughter- Penny Dively, New Enterprise; Daughter- Karen Losch, Harrisburg; Brother- Charles "Jungle" Howsare, FL; Sister- Cora "Cork" Simpson, Bedford; Special Granddaughter- Rylee; Special Grandson- Jesse; Special Friend- Ruby Sparks, Pleasantville. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya, a sister, Delores "Dot" Cane and two brothers, John "Jack" Howsare and Homer Howsare

Pete was a 1955 graduate of Bedford High School, where he excelled in football, wrestling and track.  He served in the US Army.  Pete was employed by New Enterprise Stone and Lime as a truck driver.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and both vegetable and flower gardening.

A Memorial Service will be held at at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 23rd, 2012.

Inurnment will be held Bedford County Memorial Park.  Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
