Emma Jeanne (Young) Sams

Mrs. Emma Jeanne Sams, 93, of Dorchester, SC, formerly of Manns Choice,  died Sunday, June 29th, 2014 at her home in South Carolina.

Mrs. Sams was born in Bedford on Wednesday, May 4, 1921,  the daughter of the late Asa and Julia Estell (Sesher) Young.

On June 30, 1938, she married Fred Stucky Sams.  He preceded her in death on April 3, 2012.

She is survived by  Son- Dale Thomas Sams, Dorchester, SC; Son- Charles David Sams, Washington, DC; Brother- Asa Young, Orlando, FL; Sister- Clara Pedigo, Houston, TX. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Jack and a sister, Martha.

Emma was a member of the Bedford Bible Church.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking.

A Graveside Service will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary Sams officiating.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
