Mr. Elmer D. Donahoe, 73, of Chaneysville passed away Sunday, December 8th, 2013 with his wife by his side.
Mr. Donahoe was born in Southampton Township, Beans Cove on Friday, March 22, 1940, the son of the late George and Vernelda (Bennett) Donahoe.
On May 2, 1964, he married Karen L. (Snyder) Donahoe. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Trace husband of Pam Donahoe, Freehold, NJ; Daughter- Melissa wife of William Quick, Bethlehem; Brother- Grover husband of Doris Donahoe, Albuquerque, NM; Brother- Hillary "Smoke" husband of Sharon Donahoe, Centerville; Brother- Carl husband of Rita Donahoe, Cumberland, MD; Brother- Ronnie Donahoe, Seabrook, SC; Sister- Mary Eleanor Ryan, Cumberland, MD; Sister- Eileen wife of Jim Hunter, Bedford; Sister- Barbara Fry, Hancock, MD; Sister-in-Law- Ida Donahoe; Sister-in-Law- Patty Donahoe. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Haile. Michael, William and Jennifer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenny Donahoe, Richard Donahoe and Roger Donahoe, a sister-in-law, Lawrene Donahoe and a brother-in-law, George Fry.
Elmer was a member of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Beans Cove. He attended LaSalle High School in Cumberland, MD and served in the U.S. Air Force. Elmer was employed at DuPont in Parlin, NJ until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Outdoor Club, the Bloody Run Social Club in Cumberland, MD and the Chaneysville Fire Hall. Elmer was an outdoorsman, loving both hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan.
