Elisabeth "Betty" (Wenig) McCallion

Elisabeth Betty McCallion of Bedford, died December 9, 2020.  She was born September 24, 1927 in Stuttgart, Germany, the daughter of the late Friedrich and Anna (Queissner) Wenig.

After World War II, Betty was an interpreter for the US Military and US Government in Germany, where she met and married her husband Harry E McCallion on March 18, 1949,  and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1998.  She was also preceded in death by her sister Martha Wagner of Stuttgart,Germany.

Betty was a graduate of Koenigin Olga-Stift, Stuttgart, Germany, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a member for over 60 years of the Bedford American Legion auxiliary. Betty had been a secretary for 27 years to the Howard Johnson Company.

A private funeral service and burial will be held at St Paul’s Cemetery, Cessna Arrangements  entrusted to Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
