Eileen B. (Hillegass) Hankinson

Eileen B. Hankinson passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the age of 90.

Born in Berlin, PA, Mrs. Hankinson has been a resident of Levittown since 1957, and was a long-time member of Queen of the Universe parish.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and animals of all kind, but most of all, she loved the times spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Leo J. Hankinson, Eileen was the loving mother of Joyce E., Pauline M., Kenneth L. (Kimberly) Hankinson, Joan M. Eichelberger, Lois A. Zanzoul (Hamadi), and Dorothy J. Nyland (Bradley), and a devoted grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Daughter of the late Elmer J. and Mary B. (Fisher) Hillegas, Eileen was the sister to Theresa (late Thomas) Fochtman, Mary (late Aloysius) Raszewski, and Cyril (late Gloria) Hillegas, and the late Rita Monaghan-May, Joseph and Paul Hillegas.

Eileen is also survived by her sisters-in-law Helen (late Joseph) Hillegas, Mary Ellen (late Charles) Hankinson, Josephine (late Cyril) Suhrie, and Margaret Lynch, and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 PM on Monday, February 21st and from 9 until 10 AM on Tuesday, February 22nd at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at Queen of the Universe Church.

Family and Friends can call on Thursday, February 24th from 9-10AM at the Mickel-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg, PA,  with a Blessing Service at 10:00AM with Father Mark Pattock- Celebrant. Interment following at St. John the Baptist cemetery in New Baltimore, PA.
