Mr. Edward F. Diehl, 80, of Glade Pike, Manns Choice, died Saturday, August 13th, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Mr. Diehl was born in Juniata Township on Wednesday, June 10, 1936, the son of the late Merle F. and Edna L. (Geller) Diehl.
On March 29, 1969, he married Janet L. (Slick) Diehl. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Todd F. husband of Erin (Shaw) Diehl, Manns Choice; Daughter- Jody A. Heim, Manchester, MD; Grandchildren- Jacob F. Diehl & Taylor D. Diehl; Brother- Earl husband of Freda Diehl, Oldtown, MD. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Diehl.
Ed was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Manns Choice and served in the Army National Guard. He was a lifelong farmer and took great pride in the family had been farming the same land for over 100 years and five generations. Ed was also employed in the reconditioning department at Thomas Chevrolet in Bedford for 54 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed taking his grandchildren hunting and fishing. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend and he will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, Manns Choice at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 with Revs. Joseph & Cheryl Ward officiating.
Interment will be held at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Manns Choice.
