Mr. Edward F. Stoney, 69, of Bedford, died at 10:52 AM, Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at Bon Secour Holy Family Hospital, Altoona.

Mr. Stoney was born in Somerville, MA on November 11, 1942,  he was the son of the late Alvin Stoney.  Upon the death of Alvin while in service during W.W.II, he was adopted by his maternal grandparents, Ernest V. and Mary Frances (O'Rourke) Brendel.

On May 22, 1965, he married Carmena (Caivano) Stoney.  In May of this year they would have been married for 47 love and joy filled years.

He is survived by  Daughter- Lucille M. wife of  Keith Kentner. He is also survived by two grandsons, Kyle Edward and Brennan David.

Ed was a lifelong truck driver.  He started driving at the age of 16 and took great pride in being an owner and operator of his own rig.  One of his great loves in his life were his trucks.  He also had a love for strays and couldn't help but opening his heart to all animals.  Ed also opened his heart and became an advocate for those whose voices were not always heard, people with disabilities.  He fought to bring businesses and public places into compliance with the regulations of the ADA.

Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially the times that he was able to share his hobbies and passion for the outdoors with his grandsons.   He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, a friend to all and a champion for many.  Ed's motto was "Keep on Trucking" and he will be remembered as someone that kept going, always helping others, being there for his family and most of all he will be remembered for being a good man.

At the request of Mr. Stoney, private services were held.  The family wishes to thank you all for your outpouring of support.

Arrangements entrusted to Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
