Dorothy Ann (Bittlebrun) Yankanich

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Yankanich, 78, of Flack St., Silver Spring, MD died Wednesday, October 26th, 2011 at Brinton Woods Nursing Home, Sykesville, MD.

Mrs. Yankanich was born in New Baltimore, on Thursday, November 10, 1932, the daughter of the late John F. and Irene C. (Lilly) Bittlebrun.

On September 5, 1953, she married Andrew Yankanich.  In addition to her husband she is survived by Daughter- Judith widow of  Charles Porter, Silver Spring, MD; Son- Larry E. husband of  Jackie (Colbert) Yankanich, Brookeville, MD; Daughter- Debra wife of  Donald Thompson, Frederick, MD;Son- Gary husband of  Janet (Birch) Yankanich, Olney, MD; Daughter- Linda wife of  Garth Coe, Falling Water, WV; Son- David husband of  Molly(Munshour) Yankanich, Olney, MD; Son- Johnny Yankanich, Mt. Airy, MD; Sister- Mary Louise Bittlebrun, New Baltimore; Brother- Paul J. Bittlebrun, Victoria, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren,  four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Andrew Yankanich

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Wheaton, MD.

A Funeral Mass will be held  at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 with Father George Jakopac, celebrant.

Committal will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

A vigil for the deceased will be held on Friday evening at the funeral home.
