Doris O. (Jewell) Abbott

Mrs. Doris O. Abbott, 82, of Donahoe Road, Bedford, passed quietly in the presence of her God on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Abbott was born in Concord, DE on Monday, January 30, 1933,  the daughter of the late William and Ola (Joseph) Jewell.

On May 16, 1950, she married Rev. D. Lloyd Abbott.  He preceded her in death on September 1, 2014.

She is survived by  Son- Rev. Darcy W. husband of  Patricia (Junkins) Abbott, Silver Spring, MD; Son- Michael D. Abbott, Bedford; Son- Richard L. husband of  Krista (Anderson) Abbott, Howey in the Hills, FL; Daughter- Renee J. wife of  Craig Ickes, Bedford & Daughter- Beverly D. wife of  Calvin Helsel, Jr.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Wayne Abbott, a granddaughter, Tarah Joy Abbott, four brothers, Ray Jewell, Dallas Jewell, Joseph Jewell & Lloyd Jewell and by a sister, Mary Records.

Doris was a member of the Everett Church of God, where she served on the Ladies Ministries Board & sang in the choir.  She was a past president of the Church of God Ladies Auxiliary.  Doris was previously the church pianist and taught Sunday School.  She was an excellent cook, talented seamstress and loved doing cross word puzzles.  Doris was a devoted wife & mother and loved her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at the Everett Church of God at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 29th, 2015 with Rev. William Kisner & Rev. Darcy Abbott officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Everett and Saturday from 10:00 - 10:30 AM at the church.
