Mrs. Doris (Himmler)  Taylor,72, of Preston St., Bedford, died at 12:10 AM, Saturday, October 18th, 2014 at Pennknoll Village.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Ligonier on Wednesday, May 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth Jean (Hauser) Verwelst.

She is survived by  Son- Mark A. Himmler, Bedford; Son- David W. husband of  Barbara (Ward) Himmler, Bedford; Son- Brian C. husband of  Lori (Schrieter) Himmler, Piscataway, NJ; Step Son- Scott husband of  Laurel Taylor, Germantown, MD; Step Daughter- Susan wife of  Tom DesRoches, Frederick. MD; Step Daughter- Tracy wife of  Donald Goglio, Martinsburg, WV; Brother- Clarence Verwelst, Latrobe; Sister- Nancy Corleto, Latrobe; Sister- Betty wife of  Chuck Spillar, Loyalhanna. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Justin Himmler, Kristie Himmler, Kurtis Himmler and Laura Himmler, and four step grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Leslie Taylor, Renee DesRoches and Michael DesRoches and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by both her husbands, Rodrick L. Himmler and James H. Taylor and by her sister, Shirley Strickler.

Doris attended the Bedford United Methodist Church and  was a 1960 graduate of Ligonier High School. She was homemaker who was previously employed at the G.C. Murphy Store in Ligonier, the Ames Department Store in Bedford, Walmart in both Bedford and Germantown, MD and BNR Management Inc. in Montgomery Village, MD.  Doris volunteered at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, MD.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22nd,  2014 with Jim Miller officiating.

Interment will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery, Bedford.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Bedford.
