Mrs. Doris J. Troutman, 74, of Manassas Gap Road, Centerville , died at 1:50 PM, Saturday, March 10th, 2012 in a room filled with her husband, children, grandchildren, sister and friends at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Jr. and Tina Troutman in New Paris.
Mrs. Troutman was born in Bedford on Tuesday, September 7, 1937, the daughter of the late Irvin and Dicie (Williams) Bennett.
On April 2, 1958, she married Charles Troutman, Sr. In addition to her husband she is survived by Daughter- Madelene Troutman, Bedford; Son- Charles Troutman, Jr. husband of Tina (Williams), New Paris; Son- Vernon husband of Debbie (Gross) Troutman, Rockwood; Daughter- Hazel Troutman, at home in Centerville; Son- Eugene Troutman, at home in Centerville; Son- Edward Troutman and girlfriend Sharon Carr. Centerville; Sister- Hazel Stifler, Centerville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Amanda Stiver of Bedford, Jennifer Troutman of New Paris, Matthew Troutman of New Paris, and Holly, Jennifer and Jason Troutman of Rockwood, and one great grandson, Braydon Montgomery, two years old of New Paris and many nieces and nephews that loved her very much. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Stewart, Hod, Ernie, Vernon and Sherman
Doris attended the Centerville United Methodist Church. She was a waitress at the Bedford Springs Hotel in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Upon leaving there, she cared for children and helped to care for the elderly. Doris loved the Lord and knew she was heaven bound.
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 with Pastor Grace Whitfield officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to abate funeral costs.
